What is a sponsor tier?

A sponsor tier is a named, priced package of event assets offered to sponsors, usually with a limited number of places at the higher levels.

sponsor tier in detail

Also written as sponsorship level, sponsorship package.

A sponsor tier is a bundle of assets at a price. Most events run three or four, named for metals or for the event’s own vocabulary.

In practice at an event

The mechanism that makes a tier worth its price is scarcity, not size. One headline sponsor is worth several times what two headline sponsors are each worth. The assets that create genuine tiers are the limited ones: the keynote introduction, the lanyard, the drinks reception, the main-stage session slot. Unlimited assets — a logo on shared signage, a listing in the app — pad a package and carry almost no price on their own.

Three or four tiers is the practical maximum. A fifth rarely adds revenue; it splits the same buyers across more options and makes every tier look less exclusive.

What to look for

Sponsors renew on qualified conversations, then on credibility, then on presence, and last on logo placement — despite logo placement being what most decks lead with. Building packages in that order restructures them: the session slot moves up, the logo moves down.

Fewer sponsors paying more is a better business than more paying less. At 500 attendees, eight to twelve in total is comfortable; twenty is a trade show with a conference attached.

How event67 handles it

The app carries tier-ordered sponsor pages, from the top tier down, each with logo, description and website link. Because the ordering is visible to attendees, the tiers need to be genuinely different for it to mean anything. A push notification is the highest-value digital asset in the app and it is genuinely limited — one per event, with the organizer holding the pen on the wording.
