event67 vs Webex Events (formerly Socio)

The one-sentence difference: event67 is a self-serve branded conference app with a published per-attendee rate, while Webex Events (formerly Socio) is Cisco's event platform bought inside a Webex Suite Enterprise Agreement, with a documented multi-week branded-app process.

The overlap is the session room; the difference is everything around it

Webex Events (formerly Socio) (Webex, Webex Events and Socio are trademarks of Cisco Systems, Inc.) publishes an event app for in-person, hybrid and virtual events, registration and ticketing, high-production live streams and video on demand, moderated Q&A and polling with Slido integration, attendee networking including shake-to-connect, gamification and leaderboards, sponsor and exhibitor pages with lead retrieval, onsite check-in with a drag-and-drop badge designer and Lead Retrieval QR codes, session ratings and surveys, and extensive theming including dark mode and a very large icon library (accessed 3 September 2026).

event67 publishes a live schedule with personal agendas, workshop RSVPs with server-side capacity and waitlists, an attendee directory, QR connections, live Q&A, polls, reactions, session feedback, a moderated shared photo album, tier-ordered sponsor pages, smart and scheduled push, admin chat with reactions, replies and delivery ticks, Apple Wallet passes and an organizer console. The middle band matches closely. The streaming layer, the onsite layer and the ticketing layer are on one side only.

The second difference is commercial shape, and it is the one that decides who each product suits. One is bought inside an enterprise agreement with pricing that is not published; the other is bought with a card at a rate on a page, per event, with a fixed worst case. Those are different purchasing motions serving different buyers, and neither is a defect.

Side by side, with a source on every row

Everything in the Webex Events column comes from a page we loaded ourselves. The superscript on a cell is its source: it links to that page and the date it was loaded, in the Sources section below. Nothing is inferred, and a row we could not source is removed rather than softened. Webex Events may change its pricing at any time; check Webex Events's pricing page for current figures.

event67 meters activated attendees on a single event. Webex Events's published model is quote-based — not published. The two are not the same unit, so the figures are not directly comparable.

Every event67 figure on this page is generated at build time from event67's own pricing library rather than typed into the page, so the page and the meter cannot disagree. event67 publishes no performance, capacity or throughput measurement on this page, and makes no comparative measurement of any other product.

Webex Events

No seat field on this side, and no total. Working out what Webex Events would charge for this room would mean estimating a number they have not published, and an estimate presented as a comparison is exactly the claim we will not make. What follows is only what Webex Events states itself.

  • As at 3 September 2026, Webex Events does not publish list pricing and directs buyers to request a quote.

Webex Events's own pricing page carries the current figures.

Where Webex Events is the better choice

  • Your organisation already holds a Webex Suite Enterprise Agreement. Webex Events documents one Branded App included at no extra cost inside it (accessed 3 September 2026).
  • The programme streams. Webex Events publishes high-production live streams and video on demand; event67 has no streaming or on-demand content at all.
  • The desk prints badges. Webex Events publishes onsite check-in with a drag-and-drop badge designer; event67 has no badge printing or check-in hardware.
  • Exhibitors need lead retrieval. Webex Events publishes Lead Retrieval QR codes; event67's QR is attendee-to-attendee networking only.
  • Attendees need single sign-on. Webex Events documents an SSO path, with a longer branded-app timeline attached; event67 has no attendee SSO.

Four of those five are hard exclusions in event67 rather than roadmap items, and the first is a commercial fact that outweighs most feature arguments.

Where event67 is the better choice

  • You are not buying an enterprise suite. event67 has no agreement, no seat minimum and no annual commitment; one event is bought on its own.
  • You need a budget figure today. event67's per-attendee rate and per-event ceiling are published; Webex Events publishes no list pricing as at 3 September 2026.
  • You want to start this week. Signup is self-serve email and password, and the free tier covers a real live event up to 50 activated attendees.
  • You want connections to be deliberate. event67 connects attendees when one scans the other's QR code, rather than through a motion gesture.
  • The worst case must be knowable. A single event on event67 never exceeds $4,750, whatever the room turns out to be.

If you are moving the app, this is the shape of it

Check the entitlement first: if a branded app is already included in an agreement you are paying for, the comparison is probably over and we would say so on a call.

If it is not, the move is data entry plus a calendar. Export the attendee list, import it by CSV, rebuild sessions, tracks, rooms, speakers and sponsors in the console, set the theme, send invites with delivery tracking, and watch the live meter. Prove it on the free 50-attendee tier first.

Two honest constraints. Store review takes as long as it takes and event67 publishes no lead-time figure, which is a weaker public answer than the vendor's documented windows. And a branded app is a fresh install for every delegate, so the invite, the pass and the signage all have to name it.

Questions people actually ask

Which is cheaper?

There is no answer we can give honestly. event67 publishes free to 50 activated attendees, $5 each after that, and a $4,750 ceiling per event. As at 3 September 2026, Webex Events does not publish list pricing and directs buyers to contact sales. With no figure on one side there is nothing to compare, and if a Webex Suite Enterprise Agreement already includes a Branded App the question changes shape entirely.

Do both publish under my own store listing?

Both offer it. Webex Events documents that a Branded App has its own colours, branding, name, icon and listing in the App Store and Google Play, with Google builds published under Socio Labs LLC by default unless the customer invites the vendor to their own Play Console (accessed 3 September 2026). event67 publishes under the client's own listing in both stores as standard.

Does event67 have anything like shake-to-connect?

No. event67 connects attendees when one deliberately scans the other's QR code in person, or by browsing the directory and sending a request when remote. There is no motion-based gesture. That is a design choice on our side about deliberate consent rather than a comment on any other implementation.

What about virtual attendees?

event67 is an in-person product. It has no streaming, no virtual stage, no breakouts and no on-demand library, confirmed by search across the codebase on 3 September 2026. There is a browser event site so people can reach the schedule and speakers without installing anything, but that is not a virtual event platform and we will not describe it as one.

Is event67 affiliated with Cisco or Webex?

No. event67 is not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by or endorsed by Cisco Systems, Inc., and nothing on this page should be read as implying a relationship. Webex, Webex Events and Socio are used here only to identify the product being compared.
