Webex Events (formerly Socio) alternative: event67, bought without an enterprise agreement
event67 is a branded conference app and organizer console with a published per-attendee rate and a ceiling per event. Webex Events (formerly Socio) is Cisco's event platform, sold as part of Webex Suite Enterprise Agreements, and it documents its branded-app process in more detail than almost any vendor in this category.

Start with the name, then the paperwork
Two practical things before any comparison. First the name: Webex Events (formerly Socio) (Webex, Webex Events and Socio are trademarks of Cisco Systems, Inc.) is the current product, and a great many people still search for Socio. If your internal documents say Socio, they are describing the same product under a retired name, and vendors you send them to will read them accordingly.
Second, how it is bought. socio.events/pricing publishes no prices and states that Webex Events is available as part of Webex Suite Enterprise Agreements, routing buyers to Contact Sales (accessed 3 September 2026). That is a meaningful structural fact rather than a criticism: it means the purchase runs through a Cisco enterprise agreement, on that agreement's cycle, with that agreement's approvals. For an organisation already on Webex, that path may be shorter than any new-vendor procurement. For an organisation that is not, it is a different kind of purchase from putting a card into a signup form.
The other fact that decides most evaluations here is time, and Webex Events documents it unusually openly. Its help centre states that a Branded App has its own colours, branding, name, app icon and listing in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store; that all Webex Suite Enterprise customers get one Branded App at no extra cost, with graphic design and developer-account costs sitting with the customer; that the build takes no less than six weeks, or eight with single sign-on; that Apple submission must happen no less than twenty-one days before attendees need access, or thirty with SSO; and that the organisation must have its own D-U-N-S number and Apple Developer account, which can take two to four weeks to establish (accessed 3 September 2026). Very few vendors publish that. It is the honest arithmetic of shipping an app under someone else's name, and it is worth reading before you pick a launch date.
What organizers ask us for — event67's own opinion
Our own reading of the conversations we have. Opinion, about what people want rather than about any other product, from a party that is obviously not neutral.
- A branded app without an enterprise agreement
- A published price they can budget against
- Signing up with a card, not a contract
- A shorter runway to a live event
- Networking that only fires when scanned
- One conference bought on its own terms
event67's answers. There is no enterprise agreement and no suite: an event is created, run and billed on its own, 48 hours after it ends. The rate and the per-event ceiling are published. Signup is self-serve email and password with Stripe billing. Connections happen when one attendee deliberately scans another's QR code, so nothing fires from a phone moving in a pocket. And the branded store listing is standard on every event rather than an entitlement of a tier.
Webex Events and event67, row by row
Every cell in the Webex Events column is quoted or summarised from a page we loaded ourselves, with the link and the date beside it. A row we could not source is not softened, it is removed. Webex Events may change its pricing at any time; check Webex Events's pricing page for current figures.

event67 meters activated attendees on a single event. Webex Events's published model is quote-based — not published. The two are not the same unit, so the figures are not directly comparable.
Every event67 figure on this page is generated at build time from event67's own pricing library rather than typed into the page, so the page and the meter cannot disagree. event67 publishes no performance, capacity or throughput measurement on this page, and makes no comparative measurement of any other product.
All third-party names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only. event67 is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any company named on this page. Comparison details are accurate as at the dates shown.
An 1,100-delegate user conference on event67
Registration stays wherever it lives; the list arrives by CSV. Invites go out with per-recipient delivery tracking, and the live meter in the console counts activations from the day the event is published, so the bill is watched rather than received.
Delegates run a personal agenda across a multi-track schedule, RSVP into capacity-controlled workshops with server-side waitlist promotion, connect by scanning QR codes in person or by browsing and requesting when remote, upvote into moderated live Q&A, answer polls from the session screen, send crowd reactions during the keynote, and post into a shared photo album the organiser runs open, moderated or admin-only. Apple Wallet passes are issued from the event record and refreshed by the backend during the event, with an iOS Live Activity driven by the same dispatcher. The organiser side approves photos and questions, publishes deep-linking announcements and scheduled push, runs an audit-logged admin chat, and reads active attendees, funnels and top sessions live.
The bill: 1,100 activated attendees would be 1,050 billable at $5, but the per-event ceiling arrives first, so the event costs $4,750. Everyone past the thousandth delegate is free. Figures computed from event67's pricing library at build time.
When Webex Events is the better fit
Three situations, and the first is close to decisive. If your organisation already holds a Webex Suite Enterprise Agreement, Webex Events documents that one Branded App is included at no extra cost inside it (accessed 3 September 2026). A branded app you have already bought is a strong position, and no per-attendee rate competes with an entitlement you are paying for anyway.
Second, virtual and hybrid production. Webex Events publishes high-production live streams and video on demand, moderated Q&A and polling with Slido integration, and a full onsite check-in stack with a drag-and-drop badge designer and Lead Retrieval QR codes (accessed 3 September 2026). event67 has no streaming, no on-demand library, no badge designer, no badge printing and no exhibitor lead retrieval. If the programme streams or the desk prints, that is not a comparison we are in.
Third, procurement. Where a buyer already has a supplier relationship with Cisco, adding an event product to it is a smaller step than onboarding a vendor nobody in the building has heard of. Where the purchase has to survive a procurement committee, that is a real and rational advantage. We would rather write that sentence than have you discover it in a vendor questionnaire.
What event67 does not do
In full, because the gap is the decision. None of the following exists in event67 today:
- Virtual and hybrid streaming, video on demand and breakouts
- Onsite badge design, badge printing, kiosks and check-in hardware
- Exhibitor lead retrieval and booth scanning
- Attendee registration, ticketing and payment collection
- Gamification, points and leaderboards — reactions are not gamification
- Interactive floor plans, venue maps and wayfinding
- Call for papers, abstract review and speaker portals
- CEU, CME or PDH credit tracking and certificates
- Single sign-on for attendees
- In-app account deletion — deletion runs by email and a web page
What moving the app actually involves
Check the entitlement first
If a Webex Suite Enterprise Agreement is already in place, the branded app inside it is documented as included at no extra cost. Establish that before comparing anything, because it changes the arithmetic entirely.
Map the desk and the stage
List what needs printing and what needs streaming. event67 answers neither. If both columns are empty, the rest of this is straightforward; if either is full, plan for a second vendor.
Import and rebuild
Attendee list by CSV, then sessions, tracks, rooms, speakers and tier-ordered sponsors in the console. Workshop capacities and waitlists move with the agenda and are enforced server-side.
Theme it and prove it
Logo, colours and typography flow through every screen with a WCAG AA contrast advisory that warns and confirms without blocking. Run the free 50-attendee tier on an internal event before committing a conference.
The genuinely hard part is the calendar, and it is hard for everyone. Webex Events publishes its lead time in the open; event67 publishes no figure, because we have none we can stand behind for every case. That is a weaker answer and we would rather give it than a number we invented. Ask us against your actual event date.

What it costs

- activated attendees, on one live event
- $5
- per activated attendee beyond 50
- $4,750

Questions people actually ask
Is Socio the same product as Webex Events?
Yes. Socio is the former name and Webex Events is the current one; the App Store seller of record for the shared attendee app is Socio Labs Inc. (Apple, accessed 3 September 2026). Both names appear in search because the rebrand is recent, so a document naming Socio and a document naming Webex Events are describing the same product.
How much does Webex Events cost?
As at 3 September 2026, Webex Events does not publish list pricing and directs buyers to contact sales. Its pricing page states only that Webex Events is available as part of Webex Suite Enterprise Agreements. Secondary sites describe a tier structure, but nothing on a vendor-controlled page confirms it, so we record no figure. Check the vendor's own pages for current terms.
How long does a Webex Events branded app take?
Its help centre documents no less than six weeks to get the app ready, or eight with single sign-on, plus Apple submission no less than twenty-one days before attendees need access, or thirty with SSO, plus two to four weeks if the organisation still needs a D-U-N-S number and Apple Developer account (accessed 3 September 2026). Those windows overlap in part, and the vendor is the right source for a date against your event.
Does event67 publish a branded-app lead time?
No, and that is a genuine gap in our public information rather than an evasion. event67 publishes the app to the App Store and Google Play under the client's own listing, and store review is part of that. We will give you a date against your event date rather than a number on a page, because the honest answer depends on the calendar and on how quickly artwork and store copy come back.
What does event67 cost for 1,100 delegates?
$4,750. The first 50 activated attendees are free, each further one is $5, and the total for a single event stops at $4,750 — reached at 1,000 activated attendees. Every delegate beyond that costs nothing. Activated means the person claimed their invite and opened the app, not that they were imported or invited.
Can I try event67 without an agreement?
Yes. Sign up with email and password, create one live event for up to 50 activated attendees, and run it with the whole feature set, the full branded theme and bulk invites. No card, no trial clock and no contract. Billing, when it applies, runs through Stripe and lands 48 hours after the event ends.
