What is a trade show?
A trade show is an industry event built around an exhibition floor, where the organizer's revenue comes primarily from exhibitors buying space rather than from attendees buying tickets.
trade show in detail
Also written as trade fair, expo.
A trade show is an event where the floor is the product. Attendees may pay little or nothing; exhibitors pay a great deal, and the organizer’s job is to deliver them buyers.
In practice at an event
That economic shape determines the software. Exhibitors need lead retrieval that works offline in a hall. Attendees need a floor plan and wayfinding to find stands. Many trade shows also run matchmaking or hosted-buyer programmes so that exhibitors get scheduled meetings rather than hoping for footfall.
Many trade shows also run a conference programme alongside the floor — a keynote stage, a seminar theatre, breakout sessions. That half looks exactly like a conference and has the same needs.
What to look for
Decide which half is the primary purchase. If your revenue is exhibitor-driven, exhibitor tooling and matchmaking are the requirement and everything else is secondary. Matchmaking in particular is a genuine product category with its own vendors, and a directory is not a substitute for it.
Where event67 stands
event67 serves the conference half only, and only the organizer side of the trade show is a plausible fit. It has no lead retrieval, no floor plans or wayfinding, and no matchmaking or meeting scheduler. For a trade show those are three significant absences and they are not on this site’s claims.
What it can carry is the seminar programme: schedule, speakers, live Q&A and polls, session feedback, announcements and a directory. If your show has a conference inside it and that conference is under-served, that is the honest fit. If the floor is the whole event, look elsewhere.
