Whova alternative: event67, a branded conference app with published pricing
event67 is a conference companion app that ships under your own name in the App Store and Google Play, priced at a published rate per activated attendee with a hard cap per event. Whova is a full event-management suite whose attendee experience runs inside one shared, Whova-branded app that every event uses.

The two questions that usually bring someone here
Almost everyone who searches for a Whova alternative (Whova is a trademark of Whova Inc.) is holding one of two questions. The first is about the app itself: whose name is on the store listing my attendees download. The second is about the number: what will this actually cost, and can I see it before I book a call.
Both have clean, sourced answers, and they point in the same direction. On the first, Whova's own published position is that it does not offer a white-label app with its own App Store listing; its blog states it has focused on a single universal event app and sets out its reasoning on download rates and Apple policy (accessed 3 September 2026). Organisers get branding inside the shared app: logo, colour scheme, splash screen. On the second, Whova's pricing page is a Price Quote Request form that asks for your format, duration, attendee count and annual event count, and publishes no plan names, tiers or figures at all (accessed 3 September 2026).
So the comparison is not really feature-by-feature. Both products run a schedule, a personal agenda, attendee networking, live Q&A and polls. The comparison is structural: a shared app under the vendor's identity bought through a quote, against a separate app under your identity bought at a rate you can read on a page. Everything below is the detail on that, with a source and a date on every claim about Whova and a stated method on every number about us.
Why organizers tell us they move to event67 — event67's own opinion
This section is our own view of the conversations we have, not a statement about any other product. We are not neutral about our own software, and these are the things organisers ask us for most often when they arrive from a shared-container event app.
- A store listing under the conference's own name
- A price they can read before a sales call
- Push notifications on a cadence they set themselves
- One place attendees ask questions, not several
- Attendee data they can export without a ticket
- A cost that stops rising above a known ceiling
Those are wants, not complaints about anyone. What we can say factually is how event67 answers each. The app is published to both stores under the organiser's own listing, which is why the shipped instance appears in the stores under the client's name rather than ours. The rate is on our pricing page and in the strip further down this page. Announcements and scheduled push are organiser-controlled from the console. Live Q&A, polls, chat and announcements are separate, named surfaces rather than one merged feed. And the per-event charge stops at a fixed ceiling however large the room turns out to be.
Whova and event67, row by row
Every cell in the Whova column is quoted or summarised from a page we loaded ourselves, with the link and the date beside it. A row we could not source is not softened, it is removed. Whova may change its pricing at any time; check Whova's pricing page for current figures.

| Branded app in the organizer's own store listing | Whova explicitly does NOT offer a white-label app with its own App Store listing. event67 meters activated attendees on a single event. Whova's published model is quote-based — not published. The two are not the same unit, so the figures are not directly comparable.
Every event67 figure on this page is generated at build time from event67's own pricing library rather than typed into the page, so the page and the meter cannot disagree. event67 publishes no performance, capacity or throughput measurement on this page, and makes no comparative measurement of any other product.
All third-party names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only. event67 is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any company named on this page. Comparison details are accurate as at the dates shown.
How event67 runs an 800-person annual meeting
An organiser creates the event in the console, sets the theme, imports the attendee list from CSV and sends invites. Invites are unlimited and are never metered, so a padded list costs nothing. An attendee becomes billable only when they claim the invite and open the app; someone who registers and stays home is not a billable attendee.
In the room, attendees build a personal agenda from the live schedule, connect by scanning each other's QR codes, ask questions in moderated live Q&A, answer polls from the session screen, and add photos to a shared album that the organiser can run open, moderated or admin-only. Apple Wallet passes are issued from the event record and refreshed by the backend while the event runs. On the console side, the same team watches arrivals against the guest list, approves photos and questions, publishes announcements, and reads engagement analytics live rather than in a post-event report.
What that costs, exactly: 800 activated attendees, less the 50 that are free, is 750 billable attendees at $5 each — $3,750 for the event. The same room at 2,000 attendees costs $4,750, because that is where the per-event cap lands. Figures generated from event67's own pricing library, not typed into this page.
When Whova is the better fit
There are three situations where we would tell you to stay, and they are not close calls.
If you need registration, ticketing and payment collection in the same product as the app, Whova's published product surface includes registration and ticketing with payments, badges, check-in, surveys, certificates, abstract management and an event website builder (whova.com, accessed 3 September 2026). event67 does none of those. We do not sell tickets, take payment from attendees, print badges, or run a call for papers. If your requirement list has those on it, a suite is the right shape of purchase and we are the wrong one.
If attendee familiarity is worth more to you than brand ownership, that is a real trade and Whova wins it. Its iOS listing shows 247,787 ratings (Apple, accessed 3 September 2026), so a meaningful share of any professional audience already has the app installed. A branded app is a fresh install for everyone. We think the store listing is worth the install; plenty of organisers reasonably disagree, particularly for a recurring meeting whose delegates attend several events a year on the same platform.
And if your event is virtual or hybrid with streamed content as the main draw, Whova carries hybrid and virtual events with live streams. event67 has no streaming, no virtual stage and no on-demand library. We are an in-person product.
What event67 does not do
Published in full so that a demo does not end on a surprise. None of the following exists in event67 today:
- Attendee registration, ticketing or payment collection
- Onsite badge printing, kiosks or printer hardware
- Exhibitor lead retrieval and badge scanning for booths
- Interactive floor plans, venue maps and wayfinding
- Virtual and hybrid streaming, breakouts and on-demand video
- Call for papers, abstract submission and speaker portals
- CEU, CME or PDH credit tracking and certificates
- AI matchmaking and a 1:1 meeting scheduler
- In-app account deletion — deletion is handled by email and a web page
Our QR is attendee-to-attendee networking. It is not exhibitor lead capture and we will not describe it as such.
What switching actually involves
Export your attendee list
You need name, email and whatever profile fields you want to carry over. event67 imports from CSV. Nothing in this step depends on the previous vendor's cooperation beyond a standard export.
Rebuild the agenda
Sessions, tracks, rooms, speakers and sponsors are entered in the console or imported. For an 800-person, three-track meeting this is an afternoon, not a project.
Set the theme, then check contrast
Logo, colours and typography flow through every attendee screen. The console checks each colour pair against WCAG AA and tells you what it found. The check warns and confirms; it never blocks a save.
Send invites and watch activation
Invites go out with per-recipient delivery tracking. The live meter in the console shows activated attendees from the day the event is published, so the bill is never a surprise. Charging happens 48 hours after the event ends, never before.
The one thing to plan for is the install. A branded app is a new download for every attendee, so the invite email, the pass and the on-site signage all have to point at it. That is the cost of the store listing being yours, and it is worth saying out loud rather than burying.
Sources
Each entry is a page a person loaded on the date shown. The specific claim each one supports sits beside that claim in the table above, so you can check any single row against its own source rather than against this list. Pricing and status are re-checked every 60 days; capability claims every 90.

What it costs
- Free up to 50
- activated attendees, on one live event
- $5
- per activated attendee beyond 50
- $4,750
- the most one event can ever cost, whatever happens past 1,000
Activated means the person claimed their invite and opened the app. Not when you import them, not when the invite is delivered, and not if they register and stay home.
Questions people actually ask
Does Whova offer a white-label or branded app?
No, by Whova's own account. Whova's blog states that it does not offer a white-label event app with its own App Store listing and that it has focused on a single universal event app, setting out its reasoning on download rates and Apple policy (whova.com blog, accessed 3 September 2026). Organisers customise the logo, colour scheme, icon naming and splash screen inside the shared Whova app. event67 publishes a separate store listing under the organiser's own name in both the App Store and Google Play.
How much does Whova cost?
Whova does not publish list pricing. As at 3 September 2026, whova.com/pricing is a Price Quote Request form that asks for event format, duration, expected attendee count and number of events per year, and shows no plan names, tiers or figures. Capterra records Whova's starting price as 'Custom Quote'. We cannot tell you what you would pay, and we will not estimate it. Whova may change its pricing at any time; check Whova's pricing page for current figures.
What does event67 cost for the same event?
The first 50 activated attendees are free. Every activated attendee after that is $5, and the total for one event stops at $4,750. An 800-person meeting is $3,750; a 2,000-person meeting is also $4,750, because the cap has already been reached. Activated means the person claimed their invite and opened the app — not when you import them, not when the invite is delivered.
Is there a free way to try event67?
Yes. One live event, up to 50 activated attendees, with the whole feature set, the full branded theme and bulk invites. No card and no trial clock. Whova has no free version; its pricing page offers a trial through a booked 20-minute demo (accessed 3 September 2026).
Can I run registration and ticketing on event67?
No. event67 does not sell tickets, collect payment from attendees or run a box office, and it has no badge printing. Organisers commonly keep ticketing where it already lives and import the resulting attendee list into event67 by CSV. If you want one vendor for registration and the app, a full suite is the right purchase.
How many attendees can event67 handle?
The price stops moving at 1,000 activated attendees, and attendees beyond that cost nothing, so there is no commercial ceiling on room size. We publish no throughput or capacity figure, because we have no comparative test to stand behind and will not assert one.
