The conference app built for sales kickoffs

A sales kickoff is three days of number-setting, enablement and rebuilt morale, run for people who spend the rest of the year apart. The app is what holds the week together once the opening keynote ends.

A planning figure, not a statistic: the size at which an SKO stops being a single room and starts needing tracks.

Four things an SKO week has to hold together

A sales kickoff app is the mobile agenda, engagement and networking layer for an annual SKO. It carries the multi-track schedule each rep needs, collects questions for the leadership panel, connects reps who have only met on video, and gives revenue operations a record of what people actually attended. event67 runs all of that under your own brand in the App Store and Google Play, and bills only for the reps who claim their invite and open the app.

One agenda, three tracks, and a rep who only wants their own

By day two an SKO has split. Enterprise is in a deal-review track, mid-market is in a pricing workshop, and the SDR org is somewhere else entirely. A printed agenda is wrong within an hour of the first room change. The schedule in event67 is filterable by track and updated live, and each rep stars the sessions they are in so their own day sits at the top of the screen. When a room moves, it moves everywhere at once.

Questions the leadership panel will actually answer

Nobody raises a hand to ask the CRO about quota relief in front of four hundred colleagues. Live Q&A with upvoting changes who asks. The questions that matter surface because the room votes them up, moderation lets you hold a question back rather than kill it, and the panel works from a ranked list instead of whoever is bravest with a roving microphone.

Reps who have never met in person

A distributed sales org meets once a year. The attendee directory is searchable by name and company, and QR connections mean two reps scan each other at the coffee station and keep the contact afterwards. This is attendee to attendee. It is not exhibitor lead capture and it does not sync to your CRM.

Proof the week landed

Enablement is asked every year whether the investment worked. Engagement analytics show active attendees by day, which sessions filled and which emptied, and where the funnel from invite to activation leaked. Session feedback and ratings come back per session rather than in one end-of-week survey that nobody fills in.

A kickoff week, hour by hour

  1. Three weeks out

Invite the roster and watch it land

Import the rep list from CSV and send branded invites. Per-recipient delivery tracking tells you whose invite bounced, which on a sales org with recent hires is usually a handful of stale addresses rather than a mail problem. Nothing bills at this point. Invites are unlimited and free.

Uses the branded app and branded invites with delivery tracking.

  2. Sunday night

    Arrivals, not a clipboard

Reps land from four time zones. Check-in scans the QR badge in the app, a second scan returns already checked in rather than an error, and the live arrivals count on the console tells the hotel how many dinners to actually plate.

    Uses QR check-in.

  3. Monday, general session

The number, and the room's reaction to it

The annual target goes on the screen. Reactions stream across the room during the keynote. A live poll asks how many reps think the new territory model helps them, and the answer is on the screen in fifteen seconds. Q&A opens for the leadership panel and the top question is one a microphone would never have reached.

    Uses live Q&A and polls.

  4. Tuesday, breakouts

Tracks, capacity and the workshop that fills

Enablement workshops have real room limits. RSVPs are capacity-enforced on the server, so the twenty-fifth rep to tap join goes on the waitlist and is promoted automatically when someone drops. Push notifications deep-link to the exact session, not to a home screen the rep then has to navigate.

Uses the live schedule and push notifications.

  5. Wednesday night and the week after

    The album, then the debrief

The awards dinner produces four hundred photos that would otherwise die in four hundred camera rolls. The shared album collects them in one place, moderated if you want it moderated. In the following week the reports archive gives you every question asked, every poll result and every rating, which is the artefact enablement takes to the next planning cycle.

Uses the shared album and engagement analytics.

Setting up an SKO app, in order

This is the actual sequence, and it is short because most of the work is content you already have in the run sheet.

  1. Create the event and set the dates

Pick the currency at creation. It locks when the event goes live, so a kickoff billed in Canadian dollars needs that choice made now.

  2. Load the agenda

Sessions, tracks, rooms and speakers. Tracks are what make the app useful on day two, so build them even if day one is a single room.

  3. Theme it as your company, not as us

Logo, colours and typography flow through every screen. The contrast checker warns you when a colour pair falls below WCAG AA and confirms before saving. It never blocks the save.

  4. Import the roster and send invites

CSV in, branded invite out, delivery tracked per recipient. Fix the bounces before the week starts rather than at the registration desk.

  5. Set the moderation posture

Decide before the keynote whether Q&A and photos are open, moderated or admin-only. Changing it mid-keynote is possible and unpleasant.

  6. Brief two moderators

One on Q&A, one on photos and announcements. Team chat and billing carry audit trails. Moderation does not, which matters more at an internal event than people expect.

What a 420-rep kickoff costs

Invite the whole revenue org, activate 420 of them, and only the reps past the first fifty are billable. The reps who never open the app never cost anything, which on a sales team is usually the handful on leave that week.

What an SKO sometimes needs that event67 does not do

A sales kickoff is the closest fit in our whole catalogue, because it needs almost nothing we lack. Three things are still worth saying plainly before you plan around them.

  • No ticketing or registration payments. Internal events rarely need them, but if you charge partners to attend, that sale happens in another tool.
  • No printed badges. event67 checks people in from a QR code on a phone; badge stock and printers are somebody else's kit.
  • No 1:1 meeting scheduler or AI matchmaking. Reps find each other through the directory and QR connections, not through an algorithm that books their calendar.

Activated means the person claimed their invite and opened the app. Not when you import them, not when the invite is delivered, and not if they register and stay home.

Questions people actually ask

Does the app work if a rep never installs anything?

Yes. Every event has a web version at the same content, so a rep on a locked-down laptop or an unfamiliar phone still gets the agenda, the Q&A and the directory. The native apps carry the Wallet pass and push notifications, so most reps install once they see the first announcement arrive.

Can regional leaders see their own team's engagement?

Access is role-based across four levels, from super admin down to moderator. A regional leader can be given moderator access to run Q&A on their own track. Analytics are event-wide rather than per-manager rollups, so if you need engagement sliced by reporting line, plan to export and slice it yourself.

What happens to the Q&A questions we did not get to?

They stay in the reports archive with their upvote counts, which is usually a better list of what the field is worried about than any survey you could design. Nothing is deleted at the end of the event.

Is a kickoff app worth it for a team of sixty?

At sixty activated reps you are ten past the free tier, so the cost is trivial and the honest question is whether the agenda is complicated enough to need one. If your kickoff is a single room for one day, a shared document is fine. If it splits into tracks or runs more than a day, the schedule pays for itself in room-change confusion alone.

Can we run the same app for the regional kickoffs later in the year?

Each event is billed separately, so four regional kickoffs of eighty reps each are four events, each with its own free fifty. If you run enough events a year, a Season Pass pools prepaid credits across all of them instead.

Run your next kickoff on your own app

Build the agenda, theme it as your company, invite the roster. The first fifty reps who show up are free.
