What is a white-label event app?

A white-label event app is a vendor-built product sold with the vendor's own branding removed, so that the app an attendee installs appears to come from the organizer rather than from the software company.

white-label event app in detail

Also written as branded event app, private label event app.

White-label describes a commercial arrangement rather than a technical one: the software is the vendor’s, and what you buy is the removal of their identity from it. In event software the term is used loosely, and it is worth pinning down what is actually being removed.

In practice at an event

At the strong end, white-label means a store listing under your name with your icon, your app name and your description, an app the vendor’s name does not appear in, and sometimes your own custom domain and email sending domain. At the weak end it means your logo at the top of a screen inside the vendor’s own app.

For attendees the difference is whether the thing on their home screen is your event or a company they have never heard of. For organizers it is whether the app store listing, its reviews and its install base belong to them next year.

What to look for

Three questions. Is white-label included in the plan you are quoted, or is it a separate tier? Is the store listing under your developer account or theirs? And what else is de-branded — the emails, the web event site, the sending domain, or only the app interior?

Expect a price step. Vendors commonly fence white-label behind their highest published tier or behind quote-only pricing, and it is frequently the largest jump on the card.

How event67 handles it

There is no white-label tier at event67, because there is no non-white-label version. Every event’s app is published under that event’s own name with the organizer’s theme throughout, on the standard price of $5 per activated attendee beyond the first fifty, capped at $4,750 per event. The free tier for a first event up to fifty activated attendees carries the same branded app rather than a stripped one.
