What is session feedback?
Session feedback is a rating and optional comment collected from attendees about one specific session, ideally at the end of that session rather than after the event.
session feedback in detail
Also written as session rating, speaker feedback.
Session feedback is the most useful evaluation data a conference collects, and it is collected in a ten-second window that most events miss.
In practice at an event
Two questions, at the end of the session, in the app: one rating, and one optional open field. Nothing else. The attendee is still in the room, still holding the specific talk in their head, and the whole interaction takes ten seconds.
By the time a post-event survey arrives, that same attendee remembers roughly two sessions clearly and rates the rest from a general impression of the week. Both instruments are worth having, and they measure different things: session feedback tells you which talks worked, the post-event survey tells you whether the event worked.
What to look for
Free-text feedback should route to the organizer rather than publish to the room. Attendees are more candid when a comment is not a public review, and speakers are better served by receiving it privately than by seeing it appear beneath their talk.
Response counts matter as much as averages. A 4.8 from six people and a 4.2 from two hundred are different facts, so display them together.
How event67 handles it
Attendees rate a session and can send a suggestion straight to the organizer from the session screen. Free-text feedback goes to the organizer rather than being published. The console has a feedback view, and everything is archived in the end-of-event report — which makes sending each speaker their own ratings and comments within a week a five-minute job that almost no conference does.
