What is an activated attendee?

An activated attendee is a person who has both claimed their invitation and opened the event app. Importing them, sending the invitation, and registering without attending all fall short of it.

activated attendee in detail

Also written as activated user.

Activated attendee is event67’s own term, and it exists because every other candidate for a billing unit is unfair to somebody. It means one specific thing: the person claimed their invitation and opened the app.

Not when you import them. Not when the invitation is delivered. Not if they register and stay home.

In practice at an event

An organizer imports two thousand rows from a registration system. Invitations go to all two thousand, and invitations are unlimited and never metered. Some bounce. Some are ignored. Some people register and do not travel. Perhaps eleven hundred people claim their invitation and open the app.

The bill is calculated on eleven hundred, minus the fifty that are free, at five dollars each — and then capped, because the price stops moving at one thousand activated attendees. So this event costs $4,750, and it would cost the same at five thousand.

What to look for

The billing unit is the most important line in any event app contract and it is rarely the headline. Ask any vendor which number their meter reads: registrations, seats, downloads, logins, or people who actually turned up. A model that bills on registrations charges you for every no-show, and no-show rates at conferences are consistently high enough to matter.

Then ask whether there is a ceiling. A per-attendee price with no maximum is an open-ended commitment on your most successful event.

How event67 handles it

It is the whole model. The first fifty activated attendees are free on every event. Each one after that is $5, up to 950 billable, which puts a hard ceiling of $4,750 on any single event. Charging happens 48 hours after the event ends, never before, with a live meter visible in the console from the day the event is published and the amount emailed before any card is charged.
