Pathable was discontinued — what happened, and what to use instead
There is no Pathable to buy. The brand was acquired, it does not appear among its parent company's current products, and the domain no longer resolves at all. That makes this a migration page rather than a comparison: what follows is the sourced record of what happened, a correction to the version of the story that circulates most, and an honest account of what event67 does with the same job.
Last verified: 3 September 2026/Written and maintained by the event67 team
What happened to Pathable
Pathable (Pathable is a trademark of Momentive Software, formerly Community Brands) was founded in Seattle in 2008 and served associations, conferences and trade shows. Its adviser's announcement of the transaction records that the acquisition by Community Brands closed on 13 January 2021 with terms undisclosed, and describes a product that began as a conference social network, grew into mobile event apps and online community sites, and pivoted into a virtual event platform in 2020 (accessed 3 September 2026).
Three things then happened in sequence. Community Brands rebranded as Momentive Software. Pathable does not appear anywhere in that company's current list of product brands, which runs A2Z Events, Aptify, CobaltAMS, GiveSmart, MemberClicks, MIP Accounting, Momentive Careers, Momentive Certification Management, NetForumAMS, NimbleAMS, Path LMS, ThreeSixty, VolunteerMatters, Wild Apricot, YourMembershipAMS and MomentiveIQ (accessed 3 September 2026). And pathable.com no longer resolves: a DNS lookup on 3 September 2026 failed outright. We found no public sunset announcement with a date attached, so we state the evidence rather than inventing a milestone.
One correction is worth making because the wrong version travels further than the right one. Community Brands and Pathable announced a mobile event app partnership on 28 June 2018, and at that point Pathable was operating as a separate brand (accessed 3 September 2026). That partnership is routinely conflated with the January 2021 acquisition, and pages that describe a 2018 merger have the sequence backwards. They are two distinct events, two and a half years apart.
For a buyer, the practical consequence is simple. Anything you read comparing Pathable's current pricing, current roadmap or current support is describing something that does not exist. There is no plan to price, no contract to sign and no site to load. If you are here because a colleague still has Pathable written on a shortlist from a previous cycle, the shortlist needs rebuilding rather than refreshing.
What association organisers ask us for — event67's own opinion
The following is our own reading of the requests that reach us, offered as opinion and containing no assertion about any other product. When a branded event app disappears, the replacement brief tends to arrive already written.
- The association's own name in both stores
- A schedule members can filter by track
- Networking that works in a corridor
- Moderation before anything reaches the room
- Pricing they can put in a board paper
- A product that is still here next year
Against our own product record, those land as follows. The mobile app is published to the App Store and Google Play under the client's own listing, with the organiser's logo, colours and typography flowing through every screen. The schedule is day by day, filterable, with speakers and rooms, updated live, and members pin their own sessions into a personal agenda called My Picks. QR connections are attendee to attendee: two people scan each other in person, and remote members can browse the directory and request a connection instead. Approvals sit in the console so photos and questions are moderated before they reach the room. And our rate per activated attendee and the ceiling on any single event are printed on the pricing page, which is the form a finance committee actually needs.
Pathable and event67, row by row
Every cell in the Pathable column is quoted or summarised from a page we loaded ourselves, with the link and the date beside it. A row we could not source is not softened, it is removed. Pathable may change its pricing at any time; check Pathable's pricing page for current figures.

event67 meters activated attendees on a single event. Pathable's published model is not applicable — no longer sold as a standalone product. The two are not the same unit, so the figures are not directly comparable.
Every event67 figure on this page is generated at build time from event67's own pricing library rather than typed into the page, so the page and the meter cannot disagree. event67 publishes no performance, capacity or throughput measurement on this page, and makes no comparative measurement of any other product.

Where a former Pathable customer can go next
There is a real reason not to choose us, and it deserves stating first. If your association already runs on Momentive Software's association stack — an AMS, membership, community — then event tooling bundled beside it may be worth more to you than a separate vendor, even though the Pathable name itself is gone. Historical event data and integrations that live inside that ecosystem carry switching costs no new supplier can remove. If that describes you, talk to them first.
If it does not, the job Pathable did — a branded conference companion app with a schedule, an agenda and networking — is the entire job event67 does, and we do it as a live, supported product with published pricing.
Take the 1,200-member annual meeting in the example strip. The console builds sessions, tracks, rooms, speakers and tier-ordered sponsor pages; the theme editor sets logo, colours and typography with a WCAG AA contrast advisory that warns and confirms and never blocks a save. The member list imports from CSV and bulk invites go out with per-recipient delivery tracking. On the days themselves, members build a personal agenda, search the directory by name or company, connect by QR, ask questions in moderated live Q&A with upvoting, answer polls from the session screen, rate sessions and send suggestions straight to the organiser, and add photos to a shared album run open, moderated or admin-only. Workshop RSVPs enforce capacity server-side with automatic waitlist promotion. Apple Wallet passes are issued from the event record and refreshed by the backend during the meeting, with an iOS Live Activity on the same dispatcher; Wallet passes require a signing certificate, so treat that as available rather than always on.
What the example costs, exactly: the price stops moving at 1,000 activated attendees, so a 1,200-member meeting is billed as 950 billable attendees at $5 each — $4,750, the ceiling for a single event. The two hundred members above the cap cost nothing at all. Those numbers are produced by event67's own pricing library, not written into the copy.
What event67 does not do
Associations tend to have a specific list of requirements, and several of them are hard exclusions for us. event67 does not have:
- CEU, CME or PDH credit tracking and certificates
- Call for papers, abstract submission and peer review
- Speaker portals or any submission workflow
- Member registration, ticketing and payment collection
- Year-round online community sites between meetings
- Virtual and hybrid streaming, breakouts and on-demand video
- Verifiable credential badges such as Open Badges
- Gamification: points, leaderboards and challenges
- In-app account deletion — deletion runs by email and a web page
Credit tracking in particular is a hard gate for medical, legal and engineering associations, and if your members need certificates at the end of a session, event67 will fail that requirement on day one. Better to know it now than in the demo.

- activated attendees, on one live event
- $5
- per activated attendee beyond 50
- $4,750
- the most one event can ever cost, whatever happens past 1,000

Questions people actually ask
Can I still get Pathable?
No. Community Brands acquired Pathable on 13 January 2021 with terms undisclosed, that company has since rebranded as Momentive Software, and Pathable appears nowhere in its current list of product brands (accessed 3 September 2026). A DNS lookup for pathable.com failed on 3 September 2026, so the brand does not even operate a website. We found no dated sunset announcement, and we will not invent one.
Did Community Brands and Pathable merge in 2018?
No, and this is the most common mistake in circulation. What was announced on 28 June 2018 was a mobile event app partnership, with Pathable operating as a separate brand at the time (accessed 3 September 2026). The acquisition came later and closed on 13 January 2021, according to the announcement from Pathable's adviser on that transaction. Two distinct events, roughly two and a half years apart, and the order matters.
What did Pathable actually do?
On the sourced record, it offered a branded mobile event app for meetings, conferences and trade shows, online community sites for events, and a virtual event platform added during its 2020 pivot (accessed 3 September 2026). Its customers were historically associations, conferences and trade shows. Because there is no live product to load, nothing about its present-day capability, pricing or support can be verified, and we make no claim about any of them.
Is event67 a like-for-like replacement?
For the branded app, yes: event67 publishes native iOS and Android clients plus a web event site under the client's own store listing, with schedule, personal agenda, attendee directory, QR networking, live Q&A, polls, reactions, chat, shared photo album, sponsor pages and Apple Wallet passes, and an organiser console behind it. For the online community sites and the virtual event platform, no. We have neither, and no plan to build them this year.
What would event67 cost for a 1,200-member annual meeting?
$4,750. The first 50 activated attendees are free and each one after that is $5, but the price stops moving at 1,000 activated attendees, so a 1,200-member meeting hits the per-event ceiling and the remaining members cost nothing. Activated means the member claimed their invite and opened the app. The charge is raised 48 hours after the meeting ends, and the amount is emailed before any card is charged.
Can we test it on a smaller meeting first?
Yes, and for associations that is usually the sensible sequence. The free tier runs one live event up to 50 activated attendees, with every feature, the full branded theme and bulk invites, and no card or trial clock. Run a chapter meeting or a committee day on it, then decide about the annual meeting. A live meter in the console shows activated attendees from the day an event is published.
