Goldcast alternative: event67, for the conference that happens in a room

Goldcast is live and selling under its own name, and it is owned by Cvent — both are true at once, and the vendor is the source for both. This page records what is publicly confirmed, declines to guess at what is not, and then makes a narrow case for event67 on the one job it actually does.

What is on the record about Goldcast and Cvent

Goldcast (Goldcast is a trademark of Goldcast, Inc.) is still trading. goldcast.io was loaded on 3 September 2026 and its footer reads “© 2026 Copyright Goldcast, Inc. All rights reserved.” The brand is not retired, and nothing on this page should be read as saying it is.

Goldcast also confirmed the Cvent acquisition itself. Its own privacy policy, last updated on 11 December 2025, states that “Goldcast has been acquired by Cvent” and that information would be shared with Cvent to keep the services running and to assist with integration (accessed 3 September 2026). A second signal corroborates it: goldcast.io/trust/terms issued a permanent redirect to Cvent's event cloud terms of use, meaning the contractual umbrella has moved (accessed 3 September 2026).

What is not on the record is when. No Cvent press release announcing the acquisition was found across the first two pages of Cvent's own newsroom (accessed 3 September 2026), so no date, price or deal term is publicly established. We will not print one. If you need the timing for a procurement file, ask Cvent or Goldcast directly rather than trusting any page — including this one — that offers a date it cannot source.

It helps to be exact about what Goldcast sells, because the category decides whether we belong on your list at all. Its own site sets out four products: Goldcast Events for webinars, virtual events and field events; Content Lab, which turns a video library into clips, blog posts and social content; Recording Studio for high-quality local recording of podcasts, webinars and interviews; and Goldcast Agents, described as AI workflows for video creation and optimisation (accessed 3 September 2026). Its stated buyers are enterprise and upper mid-market B2B marketing and go-to-market teams — demand generation, event marketing, content, marketing operations and marketing leadership.

On cost there is no number to compare against. Goldcast's pricing page publishes no prices; it lists bundles for Content Lab, Recording Studio, Events and a custom bundle, and routes the buyer to sales, alongside enterprise controls including team workspaces, single sign-on, custom reports and multi-language support (accessed 3 September 2026).

What organizers ask us for — event67's own opinion

This is our own view of the calls that land here, not a claim about anybody else's software. The organisers who reach us are usually running something in a room, and what they ask about is predictability rather than features.

  • A published number before any sales conversation
  • A vendor small enough to answer directly
  • Software they can start using this week
  • An app their delegates recognise as theirs
  • A bill that follows real attendance
  • No procurement cycle for one conference

Taking those in order, against our own product record. Our per-activated-attendee rate and the ceiling on any single event are printed on our pricing page, so a finance business partner can model it before anyone books a call. Sign-up is email and password, self-serve, with Stripe handling organiser-facing billing out of band from the app. The mobile app is published under the client's own listing in the App Store and Google Play, with the organiser's logo, colours and typography carried through every screen. The meter counts a person only once they have claimed an invite and opened the app, and the charge lands 48 hours after the event ends. And a single conference needs no contract negotiation, no data-migration engagement and no implementation project — you sign up and build the event.

Every cell in the Goldcast column is quoted or summarised from a page we loaded ourselves, with the link and the date beside it. A row we could not source is not softened, it is removed. Goldcast may change its pricing at any time; check Goldcast's pricing page for current figures.

event67 meters activated attendees on a single event. Goldcast's published model is quote-based — not published. The two are not the same unit, so the figures are not directly comparable.

Every event67 figure on this page is generated at build time from event67's own pricing library rather than typed into the page, so the page and the meter cannot disagree. event67 publishes no performance, capacity or throughput measurement on this page, and makes no comparative measurement of any other product.

Where Goldcast is the right choice, and where event67 is

Be clear-eyed about the overlap, because it is small. Goldcast's centre of gravity is video: streaming webinars and virtual events, then mining the recordings for downstream marketing assets. event67 has no video streaming, no on-demand library and no content repurposing of any kind. If your programme is a webinar cadence feeding a content engine, Goldcast is the right choice and we cannot do that job — no amount of framing will change it.

The place we belong is the field-event half of that portfolio — the customer summit, the regional roadshow, the user conference where people are physically in a room. A branded conference companion app for attendees on the floor is the only thing event67 builds, and it is the whole of what we build.

Sized to the 300-person customer summit in the example strip, the shape of the work is small. The organiser creates the event, applies the theme, imports a CSV of registrants and sends bulk invites with per-recipient delivery tracking. Attendees get a live schedule with tracks, a personal agenda they build by starring sessions, an attendee directory searchable by name or company, QR connections scanned face to face, moderated live Q&A with upvoting, live polls answered from the session screen, crowd reactions, session feedback that goes straight to the organiser, tier-ordered sponsor pages and a shared photo album with three moderation modes. An Apple Wallet pass is issued from the event record and refreshed by the backend while the event runs, with an iOS Live Activity driven by the same dispatcher; Wallet passes need a signing certificate, so treat that one as available rather than always on.

What the example costs, exactly: 300 activated attendees, less the 50 included at no charge, leaves 250 billable attendees at $5 each — $1,250 for the summit. Fifty people or fewer would be $0 on the free tier. Figures come from event67's own pricing library rather than being typed into this page.

What event67 does not do

Set out in full, so that nothing here reads as a broader promise than it is. event67 does not have:

  • Webinar hosting, live streaming or a virtual stage
  • An on-demand video library or session recording
  • Content repurposing of recordings into clips or posts
  • Registration, ticketing and payment collection
  • Onsite badge printing, kiosks or printer hardware
  • Interactive floor plans, venue maps and wayfinding
  • CEU, CME or PDH credit tracking and certificates
  • In-app account deletion — it runs by email and a web page

One more boundary worth stating because the words look alike: our QR is attendee to attendee. It connects two people who met in a corridor. It is not exhibitor lead capture, and we will not let it be described that way.

Questions people actually ask

Is Goldcast still available, and was it acquired?

Both. goldcast.io was loaded on 3 September 2026 and its footer reads “© 2026 Copyright Goldcast, Inc. All rights reserved.”, so the product is still sold under its own name. Goldcast is also the source for the acquisition: its privacy policy, last updated on 11 December 2025, states that “Goldcast has been acquired by Cvent” and that data would be shared with Cvent to keep the services running and assist integration (accessed 3 September 2026). Separately, goldcast.io/trust/terms issued a permanent redirect to Cvent's event cloud terms of use on the same date. No acquisition date, price or deal term has been published by either party, so none appears here.

How much does Goldcast cost?

As at 3 September 2026, Goldcast does not publish list pricing and directs buyers to request a quote. Its pricing page lists bundles for Content Lab, Recording Studio, Events and a custom bundle, with enterprise controls including team workspaces, single sign-on, custom reports and multi-language support, and routes the buyer to sales (accessed 3 September 2026). We will not estimate a figure.

Is event67 an alternative to Goldcast?

Only for in-person events. Goldcast's products are webinars, virtual events, recording and content repurposing. event67 is a branded companion app for people physically attending a conference, plus the organiser console around it. There is no streaming, no recording and no video library in event67 at all. For a field event, a customer summit or a user conference, the two are comparable; for a webinar programme, they are not substitutes in any direction.

What would event67 cost for a 300-person summit?

The first 50 activated attendees are free, and each activated attendee after that is $5, so 300 people is $1,250. Any single event stops at $4,750 however large the room becomes, because the price stops moving at 1,000 activated attendees. Activated means the person claimed their invite and opened the app. Billing runs 48 hours after the event ends, and the amount is emailed before any card is charged.

Do we have to talk to sales to try event67?

No. Owners sign up with an email address and a password and build an event immediately. The free tier covers one live event up to 50 activated attendees with the whole feature set, the full branded theme and bulk invites, with no card and no trial clock. Stripe handles billing on the organiser side, out of band from the mobile app, and a live meter in the console tracks activated attendees from the day the event is published.

Can event67 handle enterprise requirements like SSO?

We publish what exists and nothing beyond it. The console is multi-tenant from day one, with super-admins, organisation admins and per-event moderators, and admin chat carries an audit trail. We publish nothing about another vendor's compliance posture or identity tooling on this page, because a comparison page is the wrong place for it. Ask us directly and we will answer in writing rather than in marketing copy.
