What is user-generated content at an event?
User-generated content at an event is any material contributed by attendees rather than by the organizer — photographs, questions, poll answers, profile details and messages.
user-generated content in detail
Also written as UGC, attendee content.
User-generated content is everything at an event that attendees produce rather than consume. It is what makes an event app feel alive and it is the only part of one that can create a real problem.
In practice at an event
Five kinds, each needing its own answer:
Photos — the highest-volume and highest-risk. Moderation mode decided before launch. Questions — moderated before display, or a visible unfiltered queue changes what people are willing to ask. Profiles — the most overlooked. Somebody can put anything in a bio field. Messages between attendees — needs a block or report control, and an organizer who can act on it. Poll answers — safe when the options are yours, a risk when free text is allowed.
What to look for
Ask about each type separately. A vendor whose photo moderation is excellent may have no answer at all for profile text or direct messages, and the question is rarely asked.
Then ask about the report path: who is notified, what happens to the content in the meantime, and how fast a human decision is required. Content that stays visible while a report is triaged is the arrangement that causes complaints.
How event67 handles it
Photos run in admin-only, moderated or open mode, with a reported photo auto-hidden pending review. Q&A is moderated into the visible queue rather than removed from it in public. Attendees control their own profile content and can stay out of the directory. Approvals for photos and questions live in one console screen. Moderation records the new status and not the moderator, so treat it as a workflow rather than as an audit trail.
