What is an event photo album?

An event photo album is a shared collection of photographs from an event, contributed by attendees or organizers and viewable by everyone at that event.

event photo album in detail

Also written as shared album, event gallery.

A shared photo album is the artefact of an event. Everything else in an event app has a half-life measured in days; photos have one measured in months, and they are why somebody opens the app again when next year’s dates are announced.

In practice at an event

Three modes exist and the choice is a policy decision made before launch, not a settings toggle discovered after a problem.

Open — any attendee adds, everyone sees immediately. Right for internal events and offsites where everybody knows everybody.

Moderated — attendees add, an organizer approves, then everyone sees. The default for a public conference. It costs a few minutes at each break.

Admin-only — organizers and the photographer only. The correct mode, not a lesser one, for clinical audiences, events involving minors, or anything with a security dimension.

What to look for

Ask what happens when a photo is reported. Auto-hiding pending a decision matters more than the mode itself, because the failure you must plan for is a photo that was fine when approved and is not fine now.

Then write a five-sentence policy shown where people upload: who sees it, what else you do with it, what you will not do with it, how to get it removed, and how long it stays.

How event67 handles it

Attendees add from camera or library, with a full-screen viewer for the whole event. All three moderation modes are supported — admin-only, moderated, or open — and a reported photo auto-hides regardless of mode. Photos are archived in the end-of-event report. Deleted photos are never shown in the admin or analytics views.
