What are CE credits?

Continuing education credits go by several names — CEU, CME for medicine, PDH for engineering — and they are the reason many professionals attend a conference at all. A licensed professional needs a documented number of hours a year, and the event is where they get them.

In practice at an event

Three things have to happen. Sessions are accredited in advance by the relevant body, which is a process with its own lead time. Attendance at each accredited session is verified, usually by scanning at the door or by a code given in the room. And each attendee receives a certificate afterwards showing exactly which sessions they attended and how many credits each carried.

The verification step is what makes this hard for an event app. Self-reported attendance is not usually acceptable to an accrediting body, so it requires either door scanning at every accredited session or an in-session verification mechanism.

What to look for

If your attendees need credits, this is a primary requirement and it should be the first filter on your vendor list, not a line in the middle of a feature matrix. Check attendance verification, per-session credit values, partial attendance handling, certificate generation, and export in whatever format your accrediting body expects.

Where event67 stands

event67 does not do CE, CEU, CME or PDH tracking, and does not generate credit certificates. This is a hard exclusion, and it is the single most common reason a medical, legal or engineering association will not be able to use it as their primary event platform.

The honest framing: if credits are central to why your members attend, event67 is not the right tool for that part, and you should treat any vendor’s answer on this line as a gate rather than a preference.
