Glue Up alternative: event67, for the conference rather than the membership

Glue Up is a membership platform with events attached: member records, renewals, a CRM and campaigns, with an events module hanging off the side. event67 is the opposite shape — a conference companion app for one event, published under the organiser's own name in the App Store and Google Play, charged per attendee who activates, capped per event. If your central asset is a membership roll rather than a programme, that difference decides this page before any feature list does.

A caveat about sourcing, then the question that matters

An unusual disclosure has to come first on this page. We could not verify a single primary source published by Glue Up (Glue Up is a trademark of its respective owner) on 3 September 2026 — no vendor pricing page, product page or company page could be confirmed. Everything we describe below about the product therefore comes from third-party software directories rather than from the vendor, and we have deliberately published no price, no headquarters and no free-tier claim as a result. Where a comparison elsewhere gives you a Glue Up figure, ask where it came from, because we could not source one we were willing to stand behind.

With that stated, here is what those directory listings describe. Software Advice's listing and the related GetApp and Software Suggest entries describe an all-in-one platform covering membership management with renewals, recurring payments and multi-tier chapter support; event management with registration, ticketing and event pages; a built-in CRM with contact consolidation; email marketing and campaign automation; community engagement with a member directory; webinar and training modules; a member and attendee mobile application; and member-journey analytics with an AI assistant (accessed 3 September 2026).

Read that list and the architecture is legible even without the vendor's own words: the member is the primary record and the event is one of the things a member does. event67 inverts every part of that. There is no member record, no renewal, no recurring payment, no dues, no chapter hierarchy, no CRM and no year-round community surface anywhere in the product. An event67 attendee exists inside one event and nowhere else.

So the question that actually decides this is not which product has more features. It is what you are trying to hold onto. If the answer is a membership that must be renewed, segmented and marketed to across twelve months, a membership platform is the correct purchase and we are not a substitute for any part of it. If the answer is that you already have a membership system and what you now need is a serious app for the annual conference, then the comparison becomes real — and it turns on whose name the store listing carries, how much in-session engagement ships in the base product, and whether the price is legible without a sales conversation.

What association teams ask us for at conference time — event67's own opinion

What follows is our own account of the conversations we have with association staff in the eight weeks before an annual meeting. It describes their asks. It makes no factual claim about any other product, and we are obviously an interested party in how it reads.

  • The annual meeting to have its own app
  • Their brand on every screen, not ours
  • Live analytics during the meeting, not after
  • Members' questions moderated before they appear
  • Sponsor tiers visible where delegates actually look
  • A bill they can predict before approving it

Against our product inventory, here is what each of those receives. The app is published to the App Store and Google Play under the organiser's own listing rather than a vendor container. The theme editor pushes logo, colours and typography through every attendee screen, checking each colour pair against WCAG AA and reporting the result as an advisory that never blocks a save. Engagement analytics — active attendees, funnels, session performance — update while the meeting is running, alongside a live arrivals count against the guest list. Live Q&A takes questions and upvotes under organiser moderation, and the approvals page handles photographs in the same queue with auto-hide once one is reported. Sponsors appear on a tier-ordered page from Platinum through Bronze with logos, bios and websites. And the per-event total has a published ceiling, which is the number a finance committee wants in front of it before the budget is signed.

event67 meters activated attendees on a single event. Glue Up's published model is quote-based — not published. The two are not the same unit, so the figures are not directly comparable.

Every event67 figure on this page is generated at build time from event67's own pricing library rather than typed into the page, so the page and the meter cannot disagree. event67 publishes no performance, capacity or throughput measurement on this page, and makes no comparative measurement of any other product.

A 500-delegate annual conference on event67

Membership stays wherever membership lives. The conference team creates the event in the console, applies the association's theme, and imports 500 delegates by CSV — a subset of the membership rather than the whole roll. Bulk invites go out with per-recipient delivery tracking, and because invites are unlimited and never metered, inviting the wider membership and expecting a fraction to attend costs nothing.

Across the meeting, delegates work a filterable day-by-day schedule with tracks, speakers and rooms, and read session detail with speaker bios, sponsors and a view count. They star sessions into My Picks, RSVP to workshops where capacity is enforced server-side with automatic waitlist promotion, connect by scanning each other's QR codes, search the directory by name or company, ask and upvote questions in moderated live Q&A, answer polls from the session screen, send reactions during plenaries, rate sessions with suggestions routed straight to the organiser, and fill a shared photo album that runs open, moderated or admin-only. The staff side scans QR badges at the door — a repeat scan returns 'already' rather than an error — publishes or schedules announcements that deep-link to the exact post or thread, runs admin-only team chat with reactions, replies, delivery ticks and an audit trail, sends themed email campaigns with a branded signature footer, publishes forms whose responses land back in the console, and reads engagement analytics live. Apple Wallet passes issue from the event record and refresh from the backend while the meeting runs, where a signing certificate is configured. Afterwards, the reports page archives every question, poll and photograph.

The arithmetic, in full: 500 activated attendees, less the 50 included at no charge, leaves 450 billable attendees at $5 each — $2,250 for the conference. Push the same meeting to 1,000 activated attendees and it reaches $4,750, and every delegate beyond 1,000 costs nothing. A small regional meeting with 50 activated attendees costs $0. Computed from event67's published pricing curve rather than written by hand into this page.

When Glue Up is the better fit

For an association, the membership is the institution and the conference is an expression of it. Third-party listings describe Glue Up as covering membership management with renewals, recurring payments and multi-tier chapter support, a built-in CRM with contact consolidation, email marketing with campaign automation, and member-journey analytics (Software Advice and GetApp listings, accessed 3 September 2026). Every one of those is absent from event67 — not thin, absent. We hold no member records, process no renewals, take no recurring payment, model no chapter structure and maintain no CRM. An association that buys us instead of a membership platform has bought a very good annual meeting and lost its operating system, which would be an obviously bad trade.

Consolidation is the second argument, and it is a strong one for a small staff. Those same listings describe events with registration, ticketing and event pages sitting inside the platform alongside webinar and training modules and a member directory (accessed 3 September 2026). One vendor across membership, events, email and community means one contract, one login for staff and one place where a member record lives. Adding event67 for the annual meeting means a second system, a second export and a second set of instructions for delegates — real overhead that a two-person secretariat may reasonably decline.

And we should be careful about what we do not know. Those listings describe a member and attendee mobile application, and we could not establish from any source whether it can carry an organiser's own branding or store listing. We make no claim about it either way, and any organiser weighing this should ask the vendor directly rather than take a comparison page's word for it — this one included.

What event67 does not do

Published in full, because on this comparison the exclusions are more decisive than the features. None of the following exists in event67 today:

  • Member records, dues, renewals and recurring payments
  • Chapters, multi-tier membership structures and member portals
  • A CRM, contact consolidation or marketing automation
  • Attendee registration, ticketing and payment collection
  • Webinar and training modules, streaming and on-demand video
  • CEU, CME or PDH credit tracking and certificates
  • Call for papers, abstract submission and speaker portals
  • Exhibitor lead retrieval and booth badge scanning
  • Onsite badge printing, kiosks and printer hardware
  • In-app account deletion, which runs by email and a web page

The credit line matters most for professional associations. If delegates attend your annual meeting specifically to earn continuing-education credit, event67 cannot record, award or certify it, and that alone rules us out as a sole system.

What moving the conference actually involves

  1. Confirm you are moving an event, not a membership

Almost nobody in this position should be replacing a membership platform with event67. What is on the table is carving the annual meeting out and running it separately. Write that down before you start, so scope does not drift.

  2. Export the delegate list, not the member roll

Name, email, organisation and any profile fields worth showing in the attendee directory, as CSV. Member records, renewal dates and payment history stay exactly where they are and never travel.

  3. Rebuild the programme in the console

Sessions, tracks, rooms, speakers and sponsors, plus workshop capacities where you want server-side RSVP limits with automatic waitlist promotion. For a 500-delegate meeting across several tracks, allow a working day and a review pass.

  4. Theme, invite, then watch activations

Logo, colours and typography flow to every screen with the WCAG AA advisory reporting as you go. Bulk invites carry per-recipient delivery tracking, and the console meter counts activated attendees from publication day. The charge follows 48 hours after the meeting ends, with the amount emailed first.

The genuinely awkward part is that your members now hold two identities. They have a membership account in one system and an event invite in another, and nothing reconciles the two automatically — no shared login, no synchronised profile, no integration. Someone on staff owns the export, the re-import when late registrations arrive, and the tidy-up afterwards. For an annual meeting that runs once a year, most associations decide that is a fair price for an app carrying their own name. For an organisation running monthly member events, that reconciliation work repeats monthly, and the calculation looks very different.

Questions people actually ask

Can event67 manage members between conferences?

No. event67 holds no member records, processes no renewals or recurring payments, models no chapter structure and includes no CRM, member portal or marketing automation. It is scoped to a single event and does nothing between events. Third-party listings describe Glue Up as covering membership management with renewals and recurring payments alongside a built-in CRM (Software Advice and GetApp, accessed 3 September 2026). An association needs a membership platform; event67 is at most the app for the annual meeting.

How much does Glue Up cost?

As at 3 September 2026, Glue Up does not publish list pricing and directs buyers to request a quote. We should add an unusual caveat: we could not verify any primary source published by Glue Up on that date, so this page carries no figure of any kind, including the estimates that circulate on aggregator sites. Those estimates are not vendor-published prices and we will not repeat them. Ask Glue Up directly for a quote.

What does event67 cost for a 500-delegate annual meeting?

$2,250. The first 50 activated attendees are free, each activated attendee after that is $5, and no single event exceeds $4,750 in total. Activated means a delegate claimed their invite and opened the app — importing the list costs nothing and delivering an invite costs nothing. Local flat prices exist in EUR, GBP, CAD and AUD, and those are separately published prices rather than conversions of the dollar figure.

Is there a free way to evaluate event67?

Yes, and it is a real event rather than a sandbox: one live event, up to 50 activated attendees, with the entire feature set, the full branded theme and bulk invites, with no card and no trial clock. A small chapter meeting can run end to end at no cost. We make no statement about a free tier or trial on the other side, because no primary source could be verified on 3 September 2026 and third-party listings disagree with each other.

Does event67 handle registration and payment for the conference?

No. event67 sells no tickets, collects no attendee payment, issues no refunds and runs no box office, and its forms collect responses rather than money. Organisers who come to us keep registration wherever it already lives — often inside the membership platform itself — and import the resulting delegate list by CSV. If a single vendor across membership, registration and the app is the requirement, that requirement rules us out on its own.

Can event67 award continuing-education credit?

No. There is no CEU, CME or PDH tracking, no certificate generation and no verifiable credential badge in event67; the Apple Wallet pass is an access pass rather than a shareable credential. For professional associations whose members attend to maintain accreditation, this is a hard gate rather than a workaround, and it needs to be handled in whichever system holds the member record.
